 Alexander visits Glenburn Seniors Forum

“It’s Good to talk!”  That was the message local MP Douglas Alexander took away from his visit to Glenburn Seniors Forum. MP Douglas joined MSP Neil Bibby and Councillor Eddie Devine for an hour long question and answer session in a packed St Peter’s club.

Speaking after the event MP Douglas said “It was a great event. I’d like to thank the members of Glenburn Senior Forum for giving up their time for these discussions. As the local MP it helps me doing my job to hear directly from local people their concerns on issues like rising heating bills and the continuing problem of dirty water in Glenburn.”

Labour MSP Neil Bibby said “I was delighted to attend the Glenburn Elderly Forum with Douglas and Councillor Eddie Devine. The Forum do a great job in bringing older people together and discussing important issues in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. The issues raised by people were varied. We heard concerns about fuel poverty, the possible closure of the RAH children’s’ ward as well as concerns over the colour of drinking water in the Glenburn area. I will be working hard to make sure those concerns are being heard by the relevant authorities. “
