Premier Opening with Local Labour MP

Premier opening 2307Friday 23rd July 2010 - Mr Purba, proud owner of Johnstone’s new Premier store, invited local Labour MP Douglas Alexander and Labour councillor Neil Bibby, along with Hugh Henry MSP,  to officially cut the red tape and pronounce the new convenience store on MacDowall street open.

Speaking after the official opening Douglas Alexander, MP for Paisley and Renfrewshire South said:

“I was delighted to be invited to open this new shop in Johnstone Town Centre with my colleagues Neil and Hugh. It is always heartening to see new businesses opening in Johnstone Town Centre and I wish Mr Purba every success.

“Despite the global economic crises and the popularity of larger superstores expanding into communities people are still passionate about their local community shops. I am committed to doing what I can to support local businesses throughout Renfrewshire and attract new retailers to Johnstone Town Centre."

Promoted by Ray Collins, General Secretary, the Labour Party, on behalf of the Labour Party, both at 39 Victoria Street, London, SW1H 0HA.
